What is the event exactly?

Carnaval ME is a winter festival that runs from January 31st to February 1st, with a Snow Ball taking place on January 30th. There will be sledding, ice sculptures, bonfires, warm food and drink, and more!


Do I need a ticket?

Yes, you need a ticket to attend the event. Please visit our ticketing page to view the different ticket options!

Can I leave the event and return or come either day?

General Admission tickets are valid for the duration of the event and you can re-enter the event as often as you'd like.
Bites & Brews tickets are only valid for the time/date you chose at checkout but you may also re-enter the Bites & Brews igloo as often as you'd like during that time/date.
The Maine Bicentennial Snow Ball tickets are also valid for the duration of the event and you can re-enter the event as often as you'd like.

What does a General Admission Pass  include?

A General Admission ticket is good for both days of activities and gets you access to all aspects of the event with the exception of the Bites & Brews igloo.

What does the Bites & Brews Pass include?

Purchasing a Bites & Brews ticket grants you access to the entire event on both days, as well as access to our Bites & Brews igloo during the specified time/date chosen at the time of purchase. The igloo features pairings from Maine craft brewers and food from local award-winning chefs. There will also be music, frozen bars, ice drink luges, and more!

What does the Snow Ball ticket include?

The Maine Bicentennial Snow Ball ticket gives you access to only the Snow Ball on January 30th. The Snow Ball will take place inside the Bites & Brews igloo and will have live DJ music, craft beers, local food, and more!

Do I need my ticket on the day of the event?

Yes, please present your digital ticket at one of the entrances to be scanned for admission.

Are there Restricted Items?

Alcohol, weapons, fireworks and smoking are all not allowed on the Eastern Promenade.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are not allowed in the event area. Service animals are allowed.

Is this a kid friendly event?

Yes, the general admission ticket access is perfect for kid's and family and kids under the age of 3 years old get in free! However, the Maine Bicentennial Snow Ball and the Bites & Brews igloo are 21+ only.

How do I get into the Bites & Brews igloo?

You must purchase a Bites & Brews ticket for a specific time and date. These tickets reserve you a space in the igloo and you cannot use a Bites & Brews ticket at a time other than the one listed on the ticket.

Is the event accessible?

Will the event be postponed if there is bad weather?

The event will take place no matter the weather conditions! If it is cold or snowing, please dress accordingly.

What happens if I have questions on the day of the event?

Once paid, registration fees for Carnaval ME are non-refundable.  If you cannot make the event, you may give your ticket to someone else without having to transfer the registrant’s name.
